Capes? Guilds? wha?
So whats the deal with capes. I am pretty sure they are for guilds, and cost 1000 gold for your guild to get them.
However, can you pick the picture you want on them? Can you make your own picture on say photoshop and put it on there, or is there a list of premade emblems? What about the colors of them, do they need to be dyed? As for guilds, how many people need to be in a guild? Can you start your own guild with only yourself until you can recruit? And how much is it to start up a guild? |

I actually had a lot of the same questions this last beta, and thought that since money didn't really matter for that much longer, I spent the 100gp to form my own guild (all by my lonesome) and design a cape...They're totally customizeable, lots of insignias in game to chose (not sure about uploading custom graphics). There were three categoriess as I recall they were, background (color and design ie: solid, checkered, faded, many otherchoices) Insignia (the bolded main desing in the centre of the cape) and .... one more to add different details. I didn't get my cape as it costs 1000gp to actually make it, but I recommend spending 100gp to play with it and see for yourself since it all gets wiped at release anyway.

As for the colors, you have a pallete of about 16 base colors to choose from. From there, you'll have all the hues available in that color to play around with. So, in essence, you pick the background color, then you pick the design color, then you pick the emblem color. Only ONE person is required to start a guild. It costs 100 gold to register it, and then 1k go buy the cape. I'm pretty sure you still need a sigil to start a guild. You can either buy that or obtain it by winning the Tombs. |

There is also, I noticed when I was playing with the cape maker thingy, that there is also a kind of base pattern printed underneith the symbol, some of them reminiscent of the patterns on a lot of English and European heraldy. Crosses, blocks of color, patterns of stripes, that kind of thing. With the color choices and being able to alter the pattern colors too, AND the symbol as well, it's unlikely to have two capes EXACTLY the same. Not impossible, though.
